Recent Sales Noted on Ebay
I have begun listing here recent sales made on Ebay as a way of helping people value their insulators. Of course your insulators are only worth what someone will pay, but it's a start.
The details are reproduced here as they were on Ebay with some trimming, but including spelling mistakes!
The postage quoted was as advertised at the time, actual postage depended upon the bidders location. It is merely present to give an indication of postage variations as the extortionate then becomes obvious

Electrical Insulator
I am pleased to be auctioning today this vintage porcelain electrical insulator. This item originates from the Rail industry and is in good condition with no chips or breaks in the pot. It stands approx. 16 inches tall and is 9 inches in diameter. It has a hollow centre which makes it suitable for a cascading water feature (the current trend which actually look good when done well). The item is thought to be off a Class 310 vehicle built during the early 1960's. Happy Bidding
£10.00 plus £15.00 postage. 1 bid

Red LMS 1947 Bullers Insulator
This is a red power transmission insulator made by Buller's Ltd. There are no chips and cracks to the insulator. One side of the insulator has been weathered and the glaze has flaked, see photo. The other side has a lovely red colour. There are two spots where the red glaze was missed off before firing. The Buller's makers mark is clearly impressed on the top of the insulator, see photo. The railway company L.M.S also has its initials impressed in the side of the top of this insulator.
