Recent Sales Noted on Ebay

I have begun listing here recent sales made on Ebay as a way of helping people value their insulators. Of course your insulators are only worth what someone will pay, but it's a start.

The details are reproduced here as they were on Ebay with some trimming, but including spelling mistakes!

The postage quoted was as advertised at the time, actual postage depended upon the bidders location. It is merely present to give an indication of postage variations as the extortionate then becomes obvious

vintage telephone line insulators from 1956
insulator

Vintage telephone line insulators from 1956 This item is for a pair of telephone line insulators, that were found on old telegraph poles, and on the side of older houses, where the telephone line adjoined to the house. They measure approx. 115mm high, and 70mm diameter. Each one has 'GPO' stamped on the side, and the makers emblem and the date of manufacture, with one being 1956, and the other 1957. They are substantial items either made of ceramic or porcelain, with a screw cap that fits onto the main body. The hole that can be seen in the photo is where the phone line enters the insulator, the other one is turned around so that this hole is hidden from view. These 2 came from my own property, when the phone lines were modernised, and would be ideal for any collector.

BENNETT ceramic / porcelain insulator TOP 10 INSULATOR IN AUSTRALIA
insulator

Here we have an insulator that you will not see listed very often. A BENNETT CORRUGATED. These are very hard to find and I have not seen another listed on ebay in over 12 months. It is 11 cm high and 8 cm in diameter.Sadly it has quite a large chip out of the top ridge. I have shown the damage in the photos. This does not take any-thing away from it's charm when displayed. Recent English writings suggests that the Bennett was made in England by Buller so I display it with some of my other favorite Bullers. I can cut the pin off if required
