Why am I selling Insulators?

Over the years I have collected many duplicate insulators and I'm not one for just throwing them out with the bin man. What was once rare to me in some cases is now common and I appreciate other peoples position when they are starting out.
Many railway insulators are regionally marked and as such are confined to their regions. A collector from outside a region is always at a disadvantage in this situation, obviously he is overwhelmed with examples from his own region.
Other insulators in my collection are now surplus because a better example has been obtained, that's not to say this surplus is by no means worthless! Even damaged examples have been given a prime slot in the collection due to their lack of availability or uniqueness in manufacture e.g. a chipped example with a clean clear manufacturers mark is often more desirable than a mint insulator with a partial mark.
Unlike an online auction, nothing is hidden, you may request extra images or a more detailed description of an item, the price is known, postage and packing is at cost and I am always open to swaps.
Even if you purchase an example now to fill a hole in your collection and resell it once you have obtained better , if there is a better one ;-), then it has been worth my while listing them. Not only have I promoted the interest but it has helped someone else gain a broader picture of what was once common place.
